Today I discuss the recent release of the Apple Series 9 smartwatch and what it means for the future of the watch industry. Although I'll never lose my love and enthusiasm for watches, and there will always be a watch out there that sparks that unmistakable feeling of joy, there is something rather disconcerting on the horizon. Whether you're a first-time watch buyer, an experienced collector, or a passionate watch enthusiast, this video is for you. In order to understand why the traditional watch industry is doomed, I analyze what has made the Apple watch the most successful watch of all time, its advantages and disadvantages, including the latest Series 9 edition, how the traditional watch industry has reacted to it, how they're failing, and why brands like Casio G-Shock and Frederique Constant offer more realistic alternatives and approaches.
